The Western Digital WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 Gaming SSD has dropped to a new all-time low price. Lately, it’s been going for around $180 but today users can purchase it for just $165. This offer is available at both Amazon and through the official Western Digital website.

We reviewed the WD Black 1TB SN850 earlier this year and were pleased with the performance results. Overall, the SN850 SSD proved to be one of the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSDs we’ve ever tested.

WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 Gaming SSD: was $180, now $165 at Amazon

It has an M.2 2280 form factor and connects using a PCIe 4.0 interface. This offer is only for the SSD but there is an optional heatsink edition that comes with RGB lighting.

According to the official specifications from Western Digital, the WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 has notably high read/write speeds that can reach as high as 7000/5300 MB/s. It uses an in-house WD/SanDisk NVMe G2 controller to handle internal operations.

Users can adjust settings for the WD_BLACK SN850 using the WD_BLACK Dashboard, a proprietary application from Western Digital offering performance feedback and tools. The drive is protected by a 5-year warranty that nullifies should the user reach 600 TBW.

Visit the WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 Gaming SSD product page at Amazon or Western Digital for more information. So far, no expiration for the offer has been specified.

The new heatsink looks interesting. Too bad you can test those things like testing cpu heatsinks. Reply

Please consider using your brain to consider that different people at Anandtech are responsible for different things. Reply

With component swapping what is the point of your review? WD has switched the price of WD blue to equivalent to WD green then they can switched black to blue.
OTOH thanks to Leeea, i will add techspot to my watched sites -- as they claim to keep an eye out for this

So exactly what people said would happen when high quality components get too rare and too pricy. Reply
