I'm obviously missing something as I'm watching the keynote live, but you've pre-empted the lot!

Not particularly nice T shirts either. I did like the AMD hoodies though.

"The payoff of course being that Unreal Engine remains one of the most widely used game engines out there"

Is this still true? UE4 is gaining momentum, but there was a moment where very few games used Unreal Engine.

Maybe in AAA titles, but below that UE and Unity have been duking it out for best free engine.

This generation it seems like a lot of publishers have moved to in-house engines (e.g., EA and Frostbite), so certainly compared to the Xbox 360/PS3 days the Unreal Engine doesn't see as much use in the AAA space. But as jordanclock notes, UE has found a new audience among indie developers. In the future UE will also probably be increasingly used for producing CGI and architectural visualization.

    See for yourself:

Keep in mind that UE3 games are still coming out too.

This whole asynch reprojection thing sounds real handy for Scorpio's VR support.

After the Ryzen review and release of Nvidia 1080 Ti, I'm beginning to feel that AMD can't do (CPU and GPU) at the same time (in fairness, they have the console market). I hope they can turn the new developments in releasing an APU that is compelling that so that Apple will turn to AMD for Macs.
